(KIND OF) THE STORY OF MY LIFE

It's been a long time since I've heard a song with lyrics this good.  And if you've ever loved someone who has chosen a person who constantly hurts them over you, you'll cry while listening to this.

Bright Lights and Cityscapes
by Sara Bareilles

Hold my breath and I'll count to ten

I'm the paper and you're the pen
You fill me in and you are permanent
And you'll leave me to dry
I'm the writer and she's the muse
I'm the one that you always choose
She will falter and gift her blame
And it's starts all over again
Again again again

She is bright lights and cityscapes
And white lies and cavalcades
And she'll take all you ever have
But I'm gonna love you
You say maybe it'll last this time
But I'm gonna love you
You never have to ask
I'm gonna love you
'Til you start looking back
I'm gonna love you
So right
I wouldn't need a second chance

Shield your eyes from the truth at hand
Tell me why it'll be good again
All those demons are closing in
And I don't want you to burn
Never mind what I said before
I don't want any less anymore
You are carbon and I am flame
I will rise and you will
Remain

For bright lights and cityscapes
And landslides and masquerades
And she'll take all you ever have
But I'm gonna love you
You say, "Maybe it'll last this time"
But I'm gonna love you
You never have to ask
I'm gonna love you
'Til you start looking back

I wouldn't need a second chance
I wouldn't need a second chance
I wouldn't need a second chance
I wouldn't need a second chance

Today someone asked me why I'm running a 21k if I'm so scared.  Thing is, that's exactly why I'm doing it.  If I conquer the fear, I conquer myself.  The operative word here is If

6 more days.

For the past month, I have been running 4-5 times a week. My plan was to do a 15k or 2-hour run (whichever comes first) yesterday but I woke up at 5am with very sore calves (most likely from running Friday and Saturday) and I just had to listen to my body so I went back to bed. I will try to do that 15k early tomorrow morning and have a go at a 10k on Wednesday. Then it's rest till race day.  Hopefully, my muscle memory is better than my actual memory (which is pretty good, too).

Aside from having a clear picture of the finish line, I have also been listening to my running playlist everyday.  Here are some of  my favorites:

Titanium- David Guetta feat. Sia
Save the World- Swedish House Mafia
Don't you Worry Child- Swedish House Mafia feat. John Martin
More- Usher
What a Feeling- Alex Gaudino feat. Kelly Rowland
Sweet Dreams- Eurythmics (Steve Angello remix)
U + Ur Hand- Pink
Stronger- Kelly Clarkson
Mr. Know It All- Kelly Clarkson
Anything Can Happen- Ellie Goulding
Lights- Ellie Goulding
Sweat- Snoop Dogg vs. David Guetta
I wanna go- Britney Spears
Scream and Shout- Will.I.Am feat. Britney Spears
Fader- The Temper Trap
Love Lost- The Temper Trap
Don't Stop the Party- Pitbull feat. TJR
Va Va Voom- Nicki Minaj
Put Your Hands Up- Kylie Minogue
Hummingbird Heartbeat- Katy Perry
Beauty and a Beat- Justin Bieber feat. Nicki Minaj
Locked out of Heaven- Bruno Mars
Some Nights- Fun
We R Who We R- Ke$ha
Shake It- Metro Station
We are Never Ever Getting Back Together- Taylor Swift
I Knew You Were Trouble- Taylor Swift

Have a kickin' week, everyone! :)

WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS

This song pretty much sums up the kind of love I've been getting lately. It's amazing, I tell you.

WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS
The Beatles

What would you think if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me.
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song,
And I'll try not to sing out of key.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mmm,I get high with a little help from my friends,
Mmm, I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends.

Do you need anybody?
I need somebody to love.
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love.

What do I do when my love is away.
(Does it worry you to be alone)
How do I feel by the end of the day
(Are you sad because you're on your own)
No, I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mmm, get high with a little help from my friends,
Mmm, gonna to try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody?
I need somebody to love.
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love.

Would you believe in a love at first sight?
Yes I'm certain that it happens all the time.
What do you see when you turn out the light?
I can't tell you, but I know it's mine.
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mmm I get high with a little help from my friends,
Oh, I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody?
I just need someone to love.
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mmm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
Ooh, I get high with a little help from my friends
Yes I get by with a little help from my friends,
with a little help from my friends

P.S.
I have been working on my blog entry about my Bangkok trip for a week now and its still not finished!

I'LL GO CRAZY IF I DON'T GO CRAZY TONIGHT

Just want to share my favorite song from U2's new album, No Line On The Horizon.

Love the beat, love the lyrics, love the title and I have to admit, I find myself feeling like this A LOT of times!

Enjoy!

She's a rainbow and she loves the peaceful life
Knows I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight
There's a part of me in the chaos that's quiet
And there's a part of you that wants me to riot

Everybody needs to cry or needs to spit
Every sweet tooth needs just a little hit
Every beauty needs to go out with an idiot
How can you stand next to the truth and not see it?

A change of heart comes slow

It's not a hill, it's a mountain
As you start out the climb
Do you believe me, or are you doubting
We're gonna make it all the way to the light
But I know I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight

Every generation gets a chance to change the world
Pity the nation that won't listen to your boys and girls
'Cos the sweetest melody is the one we haven't heard
Is it true that perfect love drives out all fear?
The right to appear ridiculous is something I hold dear
Oh, but a change of heart comes slow

It's not a hill, it's a mountain
As you start out the climb
Listen for me, I'll be shouting
We're gonna make it all the way to the light
But I know I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight

Baby, baby, baby, I know I'm not alone
Baby, baby, baby, I know I'm not alone

It's not a hill, it's a mountain
As we start out the climb
Listen for me, I'll be shouting
Shouting to the darkness, squeeze out sparks of light

You know we'll go crazy
You know we'll go crazy
You know we'll go crazy if we don't go crazy tonight

Oh oh
Slowly now
Oh oh

BEST RUN YET (thanks to a song--i think)

I was talking to my boss last night about how disappointed I was about my run last Monday and how I wish I could find my pace so I can run longer.

I can usually only run for 18mins straight and then I brisk walk and then run again. I figured I was running too fast which was why I was getting too tired too quickly. The songs on my cardio tracks playlist are fast songs like Fatboy Slim's "Ya Mamma" and Groove Armada's "I see you baby (shakin that ass)". You'll also find a lot of Chemical Brothers and No Doubt songs in my running playlist.

And then earlier, I found this Crystal Method song on my ipod (it was my Uncle who probably put it there since my ipod video is a hand-me-down from him). And the song was 45 minutes long! It was purrfeecctt!!! It started with a slow beat that warmed me up and then the tempo started getting faster (but not too fast). And just like that, I found my running pace!

Thank you Nike and Crystal Method because

I ran for 31 minutes straight!!! And I don't want to sound mayabang, but if I wasn't going to be late for work, I could have ran some more!

So now, I am even more excited to Run For Home this Sunday! I am hoping to finish the 5km race in 35 minutes. We shall see how well or bad I do. Hahaha!

Yay!!!

YOU MAKE IT REAL

I fell inlove with James Morrison when I first heard You Give Me Something and Broken Strings but this song just melts my heart!

Mmmmm
There's so much craziness, surrounding me
There's so much going on, it gets hard to breathe
When all my faith has gone, you bring it back to me
You make it real for me

When I'm not sure of, my priorities
When I've lost site of, where I'm meant to be
Like holy water, washing over me
You make it real for me

And I'm running to you baby
You are the only one who saved me
That's why I've been missing you lately
Cause you make it real for me

When my head is strong, but my heart is weak
I'm full of arrogance, and uncertainty
But I can find the words, you teach my heart to speak
You make it real for meee, yeaaa

And I'm running to you baby
Cause you are the only one who saved me
That's whyyy I've been missing you lately
Cause you make it real for me

Ohhh
Everybodies talking in words
I don't understand
You got to be the only one
Who knows just who I am
Your shinin in the distance
I hope I can make it through
Cause the only place
That I want to be
Is right back home with you

I guess there's so much more
I have to learn
But if you're here with me
I know which way to turn
You always give me somewhere,
Somewhere I can learn
You make it real for me

And I'm running to you baby
Cause you are the only one who saved me
That's why I've been missing you lately
Cause you make it real for me

You make it real for me

ALA BEYONCE

Ever since I saw the music video of "Single Ladies (put a ring on it") by Beyonce, I have had a secret desire to lock myself in my room one day and just learn the dance steps.

If you share the same sentiment, you have gotta watch this! I LOVE IT!
